A stellar opportunity to have massive impact: join the rapidly growing team at a company continually redefining how people travel.  As software developer, you will be directly responsible for building scalable innovative features to our Hotels platform collaborating with our outstanding design and product teams or helping our data science group work on the bleeding-edge technology to personalize travel for our ever expanding population of members.

Hotels foundation is at core of all hotels services, this team develops a fast, reliable, scalable and extensible platform on which our customers can rely to search, shop, and book their dream trip.

What would your day-to-day look like:

  • Build innovative consumer experiences, setting standards for code quality, scalability, reliability and performance
  • Ship your first code in days, iterating on features in an agile manner
  • Decide how to best build core systems to take advantage of our microservices architecture
  • Make our app/system more reliable and scalable
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of people, giving and receiving feedback for growth
  • Execute on big opportunities, helping Hopper rise to the top of the travel industry


An ideal candidate has:

  • Expertise with GCP and/or AWS
  • Experience monitoring services and infrastructure, log collection, analytics, and application performance monitoring (APM)
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Worked in Agile delivery teams and environment
  • Experience creating automated solutions & eagerness to automate
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills and the ability to use influence as effectively as direct control
  • Develop software solutions to reduce latency and increase reliability and extensibility in our systems
  • Fluency in least one modern programming language (Python, Go, Scala, etc)
  • Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering or Systems Engineering
